Who we are

Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, the EMPOWER Project is accelerating the adoption of workplace charging across the country. We are a coalition of nonprofits with EV charging experts, guiding workplaces through the complex process of installing chargers at their office.

We also recognize any and all forward-thinking employers who pledge to expand access to EVs for their employees and help us transition to a clean energy future.

Project Goals

Engage over 2,000 workplaces nationwide

Secure pledges from over 650 workplaces committed to increasing access to EVs for their employees

Catalyze the installation of over 3,500 charging ports nationwide and direct over 40% of project benefits to workplaces located in, or employing members of, historically disinvested and pollution-overburdened communities

Data Dashboard

Our detailed, interactive data dashboard, developed in partnership with the Center for Sustainable Energy, features hundreds of workplaces who have installed workplace charging or have pledged to improve access to EVs for their employees. It features regularly updated data about project workplaces and installed ports, including information on which workplaces are in energy and environmental justice (EEJ) communities.
