WPC Simple and Advanced Concepts

We have seen several WPC projects get started with high hopes, only to get bogged down with technical difficulties, cumbersome usage policies or higher than expected costs that have derailed the projects. Therefore, we have developed a supplier agnostic WPC Simple and Advanced Concepts that provides practical and effective frameworks to workplace charging. Click the illustration on the right to download the concept descriptions in pdf format.  Choose the approach that works best for your organization. Remember that you can always upgrade later from Simple to Advanced.

Planning Tools
Power and Energy Calculator tool for Workplace Charging is designed to help Electric Vehicle (EV) owners and employers or property management calculate, decide and plan for workplace charging (WPC). The numbers in these calculations should not be considered definitive, but rather as planning estimates.

This tool will help you explore different metering and billing options. When considering your options you will need to consult with your utility company and an electrician who is knowledgeable about electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) and metering installations

You can use the WPC  Survey to engage with existing EV owners and gauge interest among other employees to estimate future expansion needs.

Even though this is not our tool we wanted to remind you that there is a federal tax credit for the cost of installing EV charging equipment. If you install EV charging equipment between 1-1-2017 and 12/31/2020 to your own garage, you are eligible to claim 30% of costs up to $1,000. For business properties, these limits are 30% of costs up to $30,000.
